" I am often struck by the amazing beauty that surrounds us. It is a true privilege to be able to paint these marvelous living things – to bring into focus, what we often ignore in our haste."
~Sabine

Sabine Krummel

I was born in the Alps of Austria.  At age thirteen my family and I moved to Chicago.  The tremendous cultural adjustment taught me that art is a wonderful bridge between languages and cultures.

In my late teens and into my twenties, I chose to live and work in Germany and Sweden and travel extensively throughout Europe and Turkey.  Subsequently, I returned to the United States to complete my B.A. and M.A. and work as a director for many years in a human service agency.  After the birth of my second child, I resigned my professional position to pursue my passion for art.

Currently, I am a full-time artist and reside with my husband and two children in Upstate New York.  My art is in the permanent collection of the Chicago Public Library, the Children’s Home of Wyoming Conference and many private collections in parts of Europe and the United States.
